Played some BR this afternoon. Nevermind that im tired and half falling asleep, but I got my ass pounded hard tonight. I thought I was a pretty good player...but apparantly I need lots more practise. How depressing.

Like in the first UT, you gotta use the translocator. I always have avoided it, but for BR, its absolutely necessary. So is having a team to back you up, I routinely get stuck with guys on my own team who do nothing but just shoot ME. Tards man.

And then theres those floaty space levels which i totally suck at, so I usually end up just defending, cept I run out of ammo and health cause of how the levels are made up so I die.

Basically I die alot. I need to practice more. Who's got the full copy of this now...we need to get some full version games going this weekend. If not, demo server is fine. How about Saturday at 8pm? Sound good?

Or tonight at 8-9pm if anyones around lol.

I just got mine yesterday. So far all i've beat is team deathmatch and a few levels of domintaion. Excellent game overall. I'am already past your game, i'll have to catch the next one. Just let me know when. Dunno if i'll be around at 8 tomarrow, maybe a bit later like around 10 or so. Depends on what goes on.


P.S those floating levels are awsome.

I beat the ladder on ...well one of the settings already. It was an easy setting and some of the BR levels, and especially the last Finals level with the maze were HARD.

Well I'm doing a lot better today...been on the DM servers, been pulling 1st and 2nd spot mostly. I havent tried BR again yet today, its such a different beast.

Funny, on some levels (like one of the ice worlds), when I go inside buildings my 3d video just starts blinking on and off. i still see the 2d stuff like my health or weapon screen. But everything else just goes black for 5 seconds, then i see normal for 2 seconds, and then black for another 5 seconds. It makes playing impossible...anyone else see this bug?

I have GOT to get a decent PC running here soon. The laptop is okay but some bigger maps i drop down to under 20FPS, and that with lag makes playing against 10 other people way hard lol.

Got the new entertainment center put together today...next stop, AT7 :)

I'm planning on playing BR tonight on the demo server, for whomever wants to join in. 8pm? 9pm? 10?

I haven't experienced the problem your having.. I suspect it is a typical radeon driver issue if it's on your laptop though. How come you don't have a solid pc up and running?

I suck at BR too, I never played UT before this... so the translocater is totally new to me. Sometimes on servers with just kids playing I practice telefragging just so I get to use that thing... maybe improve me with BR.

How many mhz is that laptop of yours?? I can't believe how well it must play for you... my desktop struggles.

I'm running 1024x768 res 16 bit all details set to low... I do get really good framerates though, I won't play with anything less than ~50fps.

I played the original UT lots but still never liked the translocator. The old shock rifle was much better too. I want my six rockets back lol.

Yeah, i was playing BR, and this one guy would have the ball, shoot it at me to disable my gun, pull out his transolcator and shoot that at me too, and before i had time to move, he telefragged me, instantly got the ball and kept moving. It was the most awesome move Ive ever seen in my life LOL. But you cant defend against it.

This guy could also shock combo kill me in one hit, always. He'd manage to time it JUST right so the orb blew up right at my chest. Even at 199/150 your dead when it hits there.

Im running a P4 2.0 Northwood with Radeon Mobility 7500 64m. I usually get 40-50mhz on UT Demo, about half that on most of the larger maps on UT Full. I play demo at 1024x768 and full at 800x600 with much less graphic detail. The worlds are just SOO big it kills the laptop. I have the video card overclocked and I get about 5500 3dmarks out of this box. I still cant seem to overclock the FSB at all.

Im putting my AT7/2000+/Ti4200 system together today. We should play tonight so we can see if it makes any difference to my game hehe.

I have the full version too - perhaps I'll stop by the server sometime if you guys get one up and running... but I'm no good yet (not enough time to become good between working full time and going to grad school lol...).

And I have also noticed that glitch. Radeon 64MB Vivo and KX7-333r mobo. Just inside buildings, not outside at all. Perhaps my card just isn't beefy enough? It is SOOOOOOOOO annoying... makes the game almost unplayable inside buildings! (For example, I always get this inside the new "Facing Worlds" level near the flag...

Hey Spec, how's the scooby doing?

I have the same vid card (radeon vivo) and sometimes it just does not render right. Drives me up a wall but it still works. It's not just the KX7-333/Radeon combo. It happened in bolth my KX7 and my A7V.:(

Last I looked we still have a server up. Somewhere around here there is the IP but it's easier to go under the DM server list and find us. We're also having a little LAN gathering Nov 2. Too bad you're so far away and I think the pass will be closed by then :)

Yeah it's usually inside buildings, and it has something to do with the lights. It's a bug with the game which hopefully the new patch will correct (its not out yet is it?).

Most of the other rendering glitches (like seeing polys on the ground) was corrected by switching to Omega Plutonium drivers 6166.

Ill set up the new dedicated UT03 Full server once I get the host box rebuilt (moving from KR7A to KX7R) and more people get the game hehe.
