Hi all,

I´m currently using W2K, but a lot of games doesn´t work on this OS, so I´m planning to dual boot with W2K and WinME. I have two 20G partitions (fat32), and was wondering how can I set this up. Just load W2K and install WinME in my partition "D"? It´s simple as that?

You might run into problems even if you install in different partitions. As far as I know it's not recomended to install an older OS (Me) on a box with a newer (2K) OS on it. I might be wrong and Lee might call me on this but it may cause problems. If you have it try XP. Most of the games I've tried worked but mileage may vary. If you don't have XP and you it's not possible to install ME. Try and backup 2k with the backup that comes with it, format the drive, install ME on the other partition, get that up and runing, install 2K on the same drive as you had it before and you have to KEEP EVERYTHING THE SAME as you had on the 2k install and it should work. I've done it with XP and everything worked pretty good. OK, it took a little work to get all the shortcuts working but it was better than installing everything again. As long as you keep everything thr same as the 2k install you have now it should work. Again mileage may vary and I know someone will recomend a better way, but I've had this work for me.

Good luck

Hi Kode,

It is recommended that you do not try and install a "lesser" OS on a system that has XP or Win2K already on it.

I personally used the same drive for both OS's, but some people prefer to put an OS on each drive. With both on the same drive, you cn use the second drive for image/backup. Better safe that sorry.

It is best to put on the Win9X OS, then put on the Win2K/WinXP OS. There are nothing but problems if you try it the other way.

Hope this helps a little, and take care...........
