I haven't even managed to 100% TtFatF on easy yet. My buddy has gotten 100% one handed though.

im not going to totally bash the video, i just think its a fake. the hammers and pull-offs dont register unless you use that stupid strum switch, i've tried. anyone who plays guitar for real like myself, fara and others will tell you the game is horse shit, if you ever really played guitar you cant play this game, its not real playing, the sequence of hitting the "frets" and the strum bar are not like real guitar. it REALLY pisses me off.
wacky, i saw a strat in your room, can you honestly say they play the same?
ive played my acoustic along with a couple of their songs while my kid played the game axe. the actions dont really match.
i say if you want to play "Simon" thats fine but please dont think this game is anything like really playing. GH makes me sick.

I play GH as a game because it's fun, I know it is in no way like playing a real guitar (having played one myself for years ;)), but it's still fun to play.

I concur.. that game does my head in. I've heard so many people say something along the lines of "I got a perfect score on xxxx track. I can play it in real life too"..

I usually say, "I got a perfect score on xxxx track .... can't play it for shit on my REAL guitar .... screw this I'm going to bash some drums instead" (real drums not those rock band ones ;))

I kind of feel sorry for this guy. He has been working so hard for so long to 100% ttfatf, and now that he has finally done it he has been getting bashed all over the place, I even saw some racist stuff.
Here is his scorehero thread, so you can kind of get a feel for the guy.

Games ≠ Real
Games = happy fun pretend time.:)
I like FPS and I know that Unreal tournament is nothing like killing real people with a real gun because you're just pushing keys on a keyboard and clicking a mouse. FPS don't even compare to real woods/paintball. You get winded in real life, paintballs hurt and mud is cold and wet. Plus there are no plastic keyboards and mice in the woods.;)
I like racing games and I know that Mario kart is nothing like driving a real race car or being part of a racing club because you're just pushing a few buttons on a Wiimote. I'm sure fara and others would agree with this.
I like fighters and I know that Super Street Fighter is nothing like real karate because you're just mashing buttons on a controller. Real karate takes tons of time, patience, training, effort and bruises.
I'm lucky to have game savvy friends like you guys and local gaming buddies of mine. I never heard any of you or them compare GH or RB to the real thing. Although, one guy I work with bought it for his kids thinking they would learn to play real guitar. A-doy!

my turpitude stems from disappointment that i cant play GH for shit because i play real guitar, and it prevents me from the ability to adjust and enjoy the game the way it is played.
my son's "wiggles" guitar plays closer to the real thing on hammers and pull-offs and has the same colored buttons on the neck :)
i know im comparing apples to pomegranates but this game is like swapping sides of the brake pedal for the gas in a car and trying to drive after you have been driving for 25 years normally. (if you play guitar)
you know what i mean.
i havent tried GH in a non-sober state, that may level the playing field. ill let you know :)

I don't know which console you have, but maybe you could try playing using the snardard controller (not the guitar) and think of it more as a Simon style game rather than a guitar sim.
Honestly, I am crap on the real guitar. I had no lessons and I can't play by ear at all. However I've had 3 ish years of lessons on the piano, I can read music quite well and I can play whatever song I choose to practice. But I still cannot play by ear.

Here's me playing My Name Is Jonas on medium, it's the first song I could think of with a lot of hammer-ons and pull-offs. Watch my thumb and listen for the clicks of the strum bar. You will see/hear that I am hitting the hammer-ons and pull-offs using only the fret buttons.

hmm, now that proved i cant play GH worth a snot at all, also that by the time i see the "notes" on the screen, my brain cant react fast enough. i can read sheet music but have the same problem. thats why i play by ear, its better for me.
you have long enough phalanges to play classical nylon string guitar, i can barely make a 4 fret stretch!!
