Hi Fellas,
First of all, some of the tweaks I point here were taken from the link below, itīs a big reading but for the ones that like to mod the game like me this guide have some how-toīs about modding the game on page 4.

Ok, this little guide points out the best tweaks I read, discovered and tested. I also included screen shots of my modded "Vintorez", so if anyone like it and want to download it just PM me ;) well letīs go to the tweaks:
1- Patch 1005 all the way! I noticed a huge decrease of stuttering with the patch and I also noticed better quality textures on the game. Finally and most important thing is that now you can run the game with FULL DYNAMIC LIGHTING + Anti-Alias! :thumbsup: Below itīs a short description of the optimizations from 1004 and 1005 patches:
-= 1.0005 =-
Saved games.
Saved games from 1.0004 version will work with 1.0005 version.
Connectivity.
Connecting to the server will be possible only if the host's version of the game is the same as yours.
Patch 1.0005 addresses the following changes:
The optional net traffic compression on a Multi-Player server is now disabled by default. This allows to host dedicated servers on computers with low and average performance.

Saved games.
Saved games from 1.0003 version will work with 1.0004 version.
Connectivity.
Connecting to the server will be possible only if the host's version of the game is the same as yours.
Patch 1.0004 changes and fixes:
Optimization:
1. Calculating detailed objects was moved to the second CPU stream.
2. Engine optimization, which resulted in FPS 10-15% gain.
3. Shaders optimization.
2- Disable V-Sync!! My game stutters like hell with the explosions when V-sync is turned on.
3- I highly recommend the trader mod. Now the barkeep, scientist, Sidorovich and other characters will have almost all the stuff for sale.

4- A little sound tweak: Edit your "user.ltx" and find a string named "snd_cache_size 16" change this value to 32 if you have 2 or more gigs of ram.
5- Disabling the intros: Just right your Shortcut icon and add the string "-nointro" at the end of the path i.e "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe -nointro"
6- I set my LOD at -1.75, try and see if you like the crispier textures.
7- Below are the screenies of my modded Vintorez and Marked one arms/hands/gloves.
P.S I also modded some weapon specs. The Vintorez Itīs now more powerful, accurate, zoom factor of the scope is increased 3X , round have a better range and itīs way faster. The FT200 now have a 2000rpm fire rate against the old 860rpm setting. Believe me itīs a lot of fun shooting full auto with this thing!!! the sound itīs insanely fast and itīs like spraying bullets at your enemies. If you want the modded file, please PM me :)
- Weapon textures are sharper, darker, and have slightly different tone. Oh.. and I added a wooden texture at the front.
