Well its been years since I got excited about a single player game. Once I got into online multiplay, I've not looked back. But this game has me interested. Excited even.

Just the freedom of movement, and interaction with NPC's looks awesome. I hope its out for PC asap. There is also a bunch of vids on the tube..

Wow, that DOES look incredible!! It looks like it is schedule to be released this year.
It is amazing how games are taking 2,3,4+ years to produce due to the level of detail. Look at BioShock, UTIII, HL2, etc. Every amazing game that has been produced is taking a significant amount of time to be released.
AC is no exception. And even though it isn't really my type of game (I like lots of technology, mechanical stuff, etc), I'd buy it simply to enjoy the 12th century atmosphere. And I'm sure I'd greatly enjoy the game, too.
Excited, eh? I take it you are deep into the mid evil type worlds? :)

This game is not as much fun as I thought it would be.

There's just not that much going on.
There are huge towns full of people that may as well be sheep, as the only interaction that you can have with the majority of them is pushing, scaring or killing them, none of which should you do anyway. There are a few townspeople per town that are being harassed by guards, you can kill the guards and then you have allies in that part of the town.
There is usually one guy to eavesdrop on and one guy to pickpocket in order to gain intel to assassinate the one guy per town/level, and once you do, that level is done. From what I can tell there are 100 flags hiding in each town that you can go find but who wants to spend there time doing that?
So far most of my time is spent walking to points on the map to do the tasks stated above.

Hmm I guess as immersive as they try to make a game like this, there is no escaping the limitations of a set mission based plot.
What are the flags about? Just a desperate attempt by the developers to counter what you have mentioned above, and give the game some lifespan?

I think the main problem is the whored out Jade Redmond and forgot to spend that cash on creating a good game.

I found a review that matches my experience with the game.

The last 2 levels were rather good, plenty of action and fun.
The ending was abrupt, I was shocked when the credits rolled.
The reviewer had problems with long load time and low FPS, I did not.

That's really too bad. This game was seriously hyped. That and Mass Effect both came out at the same time and both seem to be very disappointing. I'm glad I dumped my $100 elsewhere then I guess :)
The good news is that since it seems to suck some, it should go to $20-25 soon :)

I haven't played Mass Effect yet, got too many other things to play and do right now. But yeah I'm sure glad I didn't buy my copy of Assassins Creed, hopefully (when I get to play Mass Effect) I won't regret not buying that either ;)

Yep, there are plenty of glitches. I've been stuck walls, floors and in the air mid jump.
