Last night I was got the tail end of a semi hitting a dear. By the time it happen I hit the deer that was left in the road. I have checked out the bottom of my car and it appears to have broke one piece. It a gray plastic piece that is about as wide as my car and 8-10 deep. It is the piece directly below the radiator and behind the bumper. It apear to not cause any problems but I am guessing this is the engine splash guard(I have it taped together at the moment). I think I found it for about 27-30 bucks. Any one ever change one of these out before. Hard, Easy, I really don't what to pay the dealership hundreds to replace it. BTW I have a 2000 Honda Civic VP Model(DX with added features).

Thanks

How is everyone doing?

Hi Neo, bugger about the deer. That panel shouldn't be too hard to sort. I haven't worked on any hondas from that era, but I imagine it most likely small bolts holding it in place.. Possibly even a few body clips that just pop on and off.

The prices you have found seem ok, If inexpensive ones are hard to get, try plastic welders, who fix bike fairings. I had some front end plastics welded up like new.

Thanks for the welcome back. RL has been a little crazy, New baby, Moving, new job etc.

Looks like that piece is connected to two bolts in my fender area. Wish me luck.

its mostly a splash guard however it is also a diverter of air to the radiator to assist cooling. if you found it that cheap then go for it. if the 10mm bolts are f-ed up then you can use zipties even if you have to make new holes.

also glad to see ya around, and congrats on the baby moose ;)
