I got one of these for the holidays, at first i thought it would be awkward to use, i was wrong.
its pretty comfortable and after 5 minutes i didnt even feel it anymore.
the sound is very good, the bass is deeper than i expected, no hissing, it didnt pick up any EMI from all my surrounding boxes or 20" CRT (unlike my guitar).
the headset is pretty light which is why i forgot i was wearing it after a few minutes of gaming. the cord is nice and long too, over 10'
the ear pads are vented pleather and kind of an uneven trapazoid so they comfortably went over my ears just fine. i never understood round ones, who has a round ear??
the microphone seems to work very well, it pivits up out of the way when not in use and did not pickup any background noise from all my fans, i havent had to mute it yet.
there is a nice volume control and mic mute inline, with a coller clip. the volume dial could have been a bit bigger but not a hassle.
i was able to crank the volume on the soundcard all the way even with M$ PLUS Speaker boost with no distortion but the sound of a blaster at full volume made me see crooked for a moment:)
these are made by the company that made the headset for the astronauts when the landed on the moon.
Plantronics is a 40 year old company.
i think they retail for under 40 bucks at CUSA.
id give them a 9/10
