I'm not sure which part is more shocking, the fact that there's going to be a new Star Trek movie, Star Trex XI, or that Matt Damon will be playing the role of James T. Kirk. You have to wonder what William Shatner is thinking about that. I'm sure he'll always think that role should be his, no matter how old he gets.

So far, Matt Damon is the only actor named and the movie will be directed by JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias, Mission: Impossible III).

That's crazy, how can they make a Star Trek movie without having well known and established Star Trek actors in it!!

i cannot comment, i was at peace with the "no more startrek" movie thing.
it dosent matter who plays it, there are some huge overacting shoes to fill.

Of the two I would have pictured Ben Afleck as the far more appropraite choice(ego wise).

Having always liked star trek movies, Im interested. Although it will be odd without William Shatner, maybe its something one can get used too.

Truth is, Shatner is a horrible actor and Matt Damon wasnt bad in Bourne so maybe it will be good.

As for Afleck, hes a total hack and NO! ;D
