Aww no 70's :( they were some of the best years for cars lol.

I would have to say Ford Sierra Cosworth for the 80's
and Nissan Skyline GTR for the 90's

When compared to the Marque names like Ferrari and Porsche.. the Performance was exceedingly good value for money. The overall performance of both cars was devastating to the competition in their day, both on the road and track.

Both were built as race homologation specials, and have ledgenary strength in the engine and driveline. I think they look good, and I prefer the Sapphire cossie on looks, and the Skylines all look tough.

So thats the 50's to the modern all day wrapped up then :D

Hey my favorite Bond car was the Lotus Esprit Turbo... I still haven't given up on the idea of buying one either.. good classic car for around the $20K AUD. Note: for that price it is not a submarine.

Yeah I was Looking at the Esprit Turbo back in 98 when i got my first high paying job. The insurance for my age in my neighborhood at the time for basic liability and owning the car outright was 1/4 the cost of the car per year so I gave that up. Now that I'm 30, I've just learned that it costs more for basic liability on my 100% owned 1990 honda accord than it does for a guy the same age as me w/ only 5 years driving history to have full coverage on a 2003 BMW 540i thats not totally paid for!!!

Ouch mate, how does that work? Is it just a simple case of the Bimmer being considered harder to steal or crash?

well my 'hood has one of the highest rates of theft in the u.s. and hondas of any age seem to be among the most stolen. needless to say now that I'm @ a new job w/ officer title & guaranteed minimum bonus I should look into new vehicle. I'm goin practical but fun, so its gonna be a wagon or suv-ish, awd, and hopefully have at least one turbo.

The short list is Audi A4/S4/A6 Avant, Audi Allroad, Volvo XC90 Twin Turbo, Subaru Legacy GT or Outback Wagon

Since you didn't specifiy which part of the planet the cars are only allowed on, I will choose the following:

BMW: M3 CSL
MB: CLK-GTR Street, McLaren SLR
Porsche: 993 & 996 GT1 Street

Of course, my heart goes on with my RX-7 :)
