liquefied natural gas terminal

OMFG!!!! The people in the city I live in Fall River
have lost ther minds! We have ben trying for YEARS
to get a new Bridge to replace the 100 year old one
and it finely happen a new Bridge is under construction.
But wate Hess LNG wants to put a LNG terminal in fall river
but nobuddy wants it so thay get a bill pass to
keep the old bridge and turn it in to a park!! WTF
This just blows my mind!
LNG will bring jobs and tax tax revenue that the city needs

What do you guys think if a LNG site was being put in your town??

I'm all for progress, so I'd be ok with it, but the people that were for the bill got voted into office by the voters of that area so I guess you get what you get.:/

Yeah its an interesting one.. On one hand, yes it probably will bring jobs and tax revenue to the area.. But then if your not getting a job out of it, and the gov is unlikely to invest tax dollars in what you want, then theres nothing in it for you is there. You just get to live next to a highly dangerous facility.

Last year the City of Melbourne had its LNG facility go up.. What a bonfire that was. It took every firefighter they had close to a week to watch it burn itself out. You just can't put out a fire like that with conventional equipment. The resulting impact on that states ecconomy was substantial.

If they announced one in my area I would be unimpressed, as LNG is hardly progress.. But I have long since accepted that theres not a lot I can do about big corporate money, so I try not to worry about it.
