Digitimes (http://digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?datePublish=2002/09/09&pages=02&seq=4) is reporting sledgehammer and clawhammer sightings at CeBIT. We still won't be seeing them for a while though. :(

Tweak hound (http://www.tweakhound.com/supertweaks1.htm) has scoured the net and condensed a lot of info on tweaking XP is to a nice little guide.

Finally some of the big sites have seen the power of the dark side and have cut down of banned Pop-up ads. Here (http://www.washtimes.com/business/20020909-97575059.htm)

This is just funny. Bill Gates (http://www.macboy.com/cartoons/switch/gates/) switches to a Mac. Funny the Mac's we have at work crash more often than my workstation. :D

Heres a few reg tweaks not found at Tweak Hound

*If you dont know how to use these then you probably shouldn't. I have only used these on Windows XP with latest updates including sp1 but (not yet) ie6 sp1. Please back up your registry before you use these. Also please read completely the notes following each registry key info before applying it.*
---------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\PriorityControl]
"IRQ8Priority"=dword:00000001

This can be used to give a higher priority to irq8 which if you go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Hardware Resources > IRQs can see is your cmos real time clock which may boost computer performance.

This can be used to boost any IRQ just change the number before the word priority. Can be undone either by deleting the key or preferably changing the value to 0
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\{D627 7990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}]
@="Scheduled Tasks"

The above actually undoes the deletion. This one only applies to those of you with a LAN. To apply go to the immediately previous location in the registry and delete the "scheduled tasks" key. While browsing local computers and some other activities your system will not look for scheduled applications on remote computers hence will do some network browsing functions faster. Add the above key info to undo deletion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
@=""
"NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000091

This disables drive autorun. so when you pop in a cd or whatever your computer will no longer try to figure out what to do with it by popping up that annoying window. Delete key to undo.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
@=""
"NoLowDiskSpaceChecks"=dword:00000001

This disables the low disk space notification so when you have a full hard drive, know it, and dont care to be told about it the window will quit popping up to tell you. Delete key to undo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
@=""
"NoResolveTrack"=dword:00000001

This disables windows from trying to find a shortcuts target when you move the application that the shortcut refers to. Delete key to undo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont know where exactly i got these but thanks "wherever" including tweakxp.com for their reg tweaks got to http://www.winguides.com/guides.php?guide=registry , windows technical pages,

If there are any questions please to post.

If anyone out there has done a network installation of Windows XP Corporate using the same cd key on each system I can tell you how to change your cd key without having to reinstall so you can apply sp1 and continue to use Windows Update. I will NOT give you a working key, tell you how to get one etc etc. This is for legit admins only and is useless without a legit key. The only reason I'm offering this is because MS freaked out and shut down its existence on the net even though it has a legal and legitimate use.

For info email john3141@netzero.net
