Before I break something due to a caster coming off my pos $50 staples chair or my existing condition worsens from poor ergonomics. Well obviously shipping would be a nightmare, but somehow I have a feeling I'm going to be looking for a US Snowcrash distro.

At first I thought it was cool but the more I look at it the more I think I wouldn't buy that in a million years
Truly, if I dragged that in the house I think my wife would call the lawyer.
You should have seen her face when I told her last night I ordered some new shoes. "What kind", she says. me *very low voice* some checker boarded Vans and some Van high tops. She shook her head in disapproval and told me I'd be showing my age. Ungreatful women! I will look money in those shoes! :D
And here's what I mean. Copied the IM to the wifey.
Me: I'm thinking of getting these for the new house. http://cgi.ebay.com/Netsurfer-Ergonomic-Computer-Chair-design-by-Snowcrash_W0QQitemZ7593621561QQcategoryZ61677QQtcZ photoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
her: It looks like a racer thing from the star wars movies
me: the lot has two so you can use one for work
her: No thanks
me: why not?
me: they are soooo cool
her: Yeah, no way
me: please
her: nope
me: come on
her: nope
me: It will go with my new Vans shoes
her: we can compromise....you can get the chair if I can get a cat
me: we can play racing games together
me: No cat!
her: No Cahir!
her: No Chair!
me: :-)

Checkerboard slip-ons, skateboard underneath, descendents cranking out of the vw scirocco. Wow what a timewarp. I'd still buy a scirocco or corrado if I can find a mint one LOL.. now that I think of it. If I found one of those cars I'd order some vans too!

In my experience, ergonomic == horribly uncomfortable :)

Hahaha I'm with you on that one. Just looking at that chair made me fidgety and uncomforable lol.

For me, that position is a little more comfortable as it offsets some vertical pressure on my lumbar vertabrae and being reclined without risk of falling over keeps me and my bad eyes from gravitating closer to the screen. I wanted to build something similar that would accomodate 2 people. I suppose the back problem could be helped if I lost some beer gut ;) I do see a claustrophobic potential to it tho.. much rather it had a larger adjustable surface and kept the machines elsewhere and not had you straddle em lol. I can tell you the desks I've worked on the past few years have gone out of their way to be ergonomically unfriendly and it does take its toll on you. I tried to pick up a guitar the other day... OUCH!

I have this extremely bad habit of folding my legs.
That seems impossible with that thing LOL

Oh I'm glad I'm not alone on that one. I sit with legs crossed on top of the chair far too often.
I've got a pair of competition rally seats that are past their used by date for rally use. As soon as I figure a way to mount them strongly, I will try them as office chairs :D

I had a humanscale chair that was the most comfortable chair I've ever owned. It got burned by the fire but I'm certinally going to get a new one. They're a little pricey $2300 but I have 5 friends that work there so I get a wonderful discount.
Sparco's make great chairs as long as they're a little larger than racespec. I have a Prodrive Sparco in my car now and it's super tight. Perfect for driving but just a little tight for sitting in front of the TV/computer.
I could never use slipons vans when I was skating. I'd allways end up kicking them off but I had probally 30 pairs of chukka boots. I was listening to liveage and other assorted decendents songs tonight at work. :D

no saying that you could for just over half the price of what you were going to pay and lets honest the chair you were going to buy does look like something out of a porn movie (er not that i have seen any) you could get yourself a 'rally office chair'

They are wonderful. The bmw dealer/tuner up where I went to college had those in the tuner shop showroom and waiting room in every model recaro had out at the time. I thought it was pretty damned sweet. True, it's not the best way to sell a racing seat, but it's better than not having sat in one at all for the money you lay out. But in all of my years, I've never heard of a recaro being returned :) I've heard of a pair being sold by the head tuner at the shop though... when he got too fat to fit in it and his wife was with child and couldnt get out of it. Then again, a month later, his uber-prime E30 M3 Evo was on the lot and he went 5 series...
*cries* it sucked being a poor college student living so close to a straight up honest and highly skilled tuner and having no money to spend on your ride :(
As for my chair situation I just put myself on a list @ work to purchase herman miller aerons from the trading desk when guys request different chairs and they don't get reused elsewhere in the building... slim chance, but you just can't pass up the chance of a pair of aerons for $500 delivered.
The first site I found w/ the full recaro office line didn't have prices listed... If you have to ask the price...
You know the rest of the saying *sigh*
