Well as some of you know i've been studying pretty hard for my CCDA the last few weeks. For those of you that didn't know, my boss gave me a "1 month or else" written consuling form on 2/6. So by 3/6 if i don't have it, I prolly won't have a job.

I signed up to take it this friday, i'm 3/4 the way thru my book (chapter 8 of 11). Should give me some of a cusion, time to finish the book and re-hash everything before I take it.

Wish me luck. If i don't pass friday, study more and i'll take it again.

Hopefully then i'll be able to come back with more time to spare!

I honestly hope he fires you. I really really do. He's been taking advantage of you for years and I think you'd do a lot better somewhere else.

But, good luck on the test irregardless. Im sure youll do fine on it at this point. It just seems so shady of this guy to 'force' you in to taking a test, claiming its for your benefit, but Im sure its just so he can pay you really shitty AND have you fully certed at the same time.

Just take the test and use it to go get a better job :)

I agree Tom. I know for a fact one of the reasons he gave me the "1month" deal is because our Cisco Reseller Liscence expires mid march of this year. IF we don't have x amount of people certifited by then, we'll loose it.

I've been looking for other jobs, but once i get my CCDA, i will really buckle down.

If you hit a rough patch and wanna try life in nyc, lemme know. Your boss is a tool for putting his poor management decisions on your shoulders.

After our last 2.5hour outage (which incurred losses in the tune of $100 million of potential commissions), my shop sure could use some fresh network blood.

i know you take into account he paid for your schooling but still, heck, fixing copiers pays over 20.00/hr and thats not nearly as difficult as what you are learning.

best of luck on the test, it must mean something to you too or you wouldnt bother. i know i wouldnt!

F*^$(@#

I scored 637 and needed 825 to pass. I was feeling good after the first few questions.. then it was a downhill battle from there on out. Only 51 questions too.

Well back to the books, I guess at least now I know what kinda questions they ask.

hey, dont kick yourself too hard.
is there any practice exams you can download and take?
years ago i had 500 practice questions for the A+ and kept taking the test over and over and over until i aced it.
i scored 98% on one test and 95% on the other (the real one)
practice exams rule, books are too much shit you dont need to know.

i know you will do better next time, we are all rooting for ya!

Synth,
I did take a practice exam. I knew all the anwsers on it, but the actual test was so much diffrent. The test isn't as cut n dry as I was hoping. Its more of.. "in this situation, which of the following 2 things would be best?" Then the answers are so dang close to each other, very miticulate.

A freind gave me some insite on some better self test stuff to use, so i'm gonna try that. Everyone else just said read the book throughly.. which i did
