I guess all these rich business men were sick and tired of hiring thugs to kick people out of their homes. Now the government will do it for them.

Have your own nice beautiful home? Too bad, some rich millionare devloper wants to build a mall and a TGIFridays in your neighboor hood, youll have to move for a parking lot.

Doesnt it sound unreal? Just a little bit?

If I'd not lived here and seen just how corrupt and F@##$% up the system is, I'd say it was a windup. But I do live here, and I have seen....
God bless this free land

As a result, cities have wide power to bulldoze residences for projects such as shopping malls and hotel complexes to generate tax revenue.

i pay over 7000/yr in taxes for a 50x100 plot of land which my home resides on, isnt that enough $$ for the town??
thank goodness my whole street is protected by law against any re-development (one of the first streets in my town) even the house next to me has a codicil that the outside appearence and property can never be altered.

Seems absolutely unbelievable. I've even seen this a few months ago on Fox News and thought "Well once it gets to the Supreme Court, they will rule in favor of the property owners" Well I guess our Country is falling even further down the toilet faster and faster. I feel really bad for these people who didn't want to sell their land to developers. Their houses were nice and not run down or anything. This is another black eye for America. Dam, how many eyes do we have recently?

There is a easy answer.

If they flatten a neighborhood for a Wal-mart, don't go to the Wal-mart.

Thats impossible. Wal-Mart emmites special radio signals that attract the weak minded and people with 6 dirty little kids who haven't bathed in days and don't own shoes. I think the less teeth you have the stronger the signals effect you ;)

Is that why your radar detector goes off by large supermarkets and department stores?

That is just simply wrong, but I guess it just all depends where you live. Just as Synthohol mentioned, I knew certain areas in NJ around the Cadlwells that people wanted for a KFC. The city said no.

In Miami, we have a city called Coral Gables that is so strict, you need to contact the city before you are even able to paint your house, put up a fence, or cut a tree down. Strict it is, but it is the most beautiful area down here.

Noone should ever be forced from their homes for commercial development. If anything, they should destroy the current commercial areas and build UPWARDS.
