In the past they used to disable ops or cache on the processors, or use OS without the proper drivers, etc...all sorts of cheating stuff.

i believe all those numbers myself :rolleyes: ...adobe photoshop-6%slower...hdv video rendering-18% slower...lightwave 3d-11% slower...after affects 6.5-32% slower...looks to me like the obvious pick is AMD 64 bit :thumbsup: LOL

I dont get how they can actually give these are real benchmarks either, as the systems were tested on different software, the macs had pre-release versions of new programs, etc.. Doom3/NVidia anyone? :rolleyes:

You know what's funny about those audio specs? They stopped developing Logic Audio for the PC at version 5 (when Apple bought eMagic), now use a proprietary plugin format, and if I'm not mistaken, 199 plugins can't be loaded simultaneously into Logic 7 (thus the whole distributed plugin architecture) nor do 199 plugins exist. Unless they just loaded the same plugin 199 times, but even then with 64 main channels and 64 auxillary, that gives you 128 instances, but then again I guess I don't do math the way apple does ;)

I've got plenty of machines I have no time to tinker with. I would love to put a couple grand down on a better car tho! beach weather is coming and I don't plan on 'computing' much or having machines heat my already hot apt in the summer.

Keep an eye on the trading post ;) for some heat generating gear. Winter is coming for some people! (wink wink)
