2 Terabytes with Escalade 7500/12 ATA RAID Card :)

Since July,8,2002, 3Ware (http://www.3ware.com), announced the latest entry in its popular series of ATA RAID controller cards-the Escaladeā„¢ 7500-12. With the ability to attach up to 12 inexpensive ATA drives on a single RAID controller, it is the only ATA RAID solution that can match the storage capacity and performance levels of a SCSI controller for applications that require terabytes of reliable storage.3Ware says that you can now surpass the performance of any SCSI controller available. The architecture is an 800 MB/sec switch fabric that allows parallel accesses to all drives simultaneously, yielding lower latency and increased data transfer rates for optimal application performance. The company claims that the Escalade Storage Switch brings new levels of reliability through patented switched architecture that exceeds SCSI and Fibre loop storage systems
The price? $660,00 (http://www.tapebackupandraid.com/raid/raid_ide.asp) Very competitive.

Look for the monster :)

Is that a pic of the controller card in a standard PCI slot?
That's madness! No-one will have a case big enough for the card let alone the all the drives :)

Hi Shep,

I have never seen a SCSI controller card that was not full size.
All of the ones that I worked with at Digital/Compaq were also full size.

My SCSI controller card at home is also full size.

If they make smaller ones, I have never seen one.

Are there, and if so, who makes them and link?

Take care........

Yes Shep, it's a PCI slot, of course it's a 64 bits PCI slot, but the card is full compatible with 32/bits/33mhz PCI slot.No doubts that in the last case the performance going dow.About the case, look for this YY0221 server case (http://www.yeongyang.com/products/yy0221.htm).It has Up to 13 drive bays :
6 - 5.25" exposed and 7 - 3.5" hidden.If i remember it well, Player0 has one of this.

Most Adaptec SCSI cards aren't full PCI cards these days. I use 19160 and 29160N cards regularly.

That thing is insane! I know BKPaul would be interested :)

My cube case is actually larger :) It used to accept full PCI cards, until I cut that part off ;)
