System administrators using common or easy to guess passwords are at risk of having a flaw in MySQL exploited and ending up with their system being overtaken by the MySQL bot. The sad part is that, to date, no one is even sure if the vulnerability has been addressed or not.
The malicious program, known as the "MySQL bot" or by the name of its executable code, SpoolCLL, infects computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system and open-source database known as MySQL, the Internet Storm Center said in an advisory published Thursday.
