Well i just bought a new daily driver, 2000 Chevy Blazer ZR2 with 46K miles.

OH

And another Porsche 944 Turbo ;)
1986
163K miles
small engine fire.

Havn't decided what i'm going to do with the 2nd 951 but i'm sure i'll find something.

Damn today was my lucky day, i just think of it as an early birthday present.

(i'll post pics later)

Tom,
Spur of the moment type thing. Plus I can instantly re-sell it for more than I paid. It needs a lil TLC thou. Here are a few pics from the auction site.

dicki,
Not sure M8. I bought the car from a salvage yard and its on the truck on its way here. I should know more next week sometime.

Some people think i'm crazy for buying a car with a engine fire, but the best part about it is I can turn around and sell it as is and make $500 right off the bat ;) (allready been offered $500 more than I paid)

I have a feeling that if the paint melted off the hood like that, the fire was pretty bad lol. Itd be a fun project tho.

Typcial Fuel Rail fires for these cars. Burns up the fuel rail and sorches the hood right above the fuel rail.

Oh...typical, of course, how silly of me ;)

I would think one would typically fix something like that right away. Typically ;)

Typically yes ;)

I wouldn't start with that as a race project for cost reasons but whatever blows your skirt up. :)

If you need brakes, let me know. :D

No no, thats the only thing I wanted off the car. But I ended up buying the whole thing cause it was a better deal!

lmao... I have a 3rd 944 turbo at my disposal now. Wrecked hard in the drivers side, 78k original miles. Motor swap anyone? :D

mmmm...

Porsche 944 Turbo... an 1986 w/ Oval dash... nice... the 2.5's have alotta potential for 400+ streetable ponies.

My dad is a trained Porsche technition and I've grown up around nearly all the cars from the 50's all the way up to the last of the 993's

Got an '87 944S myself... the car actually goes exactly 142 like they said it would, being gear limited... I'm also fond of Chevrolete and their model lineup :)

;) Sorry I havn't been around much lately guys. I have no internet at home currently and i've been trying to save money if I decide to fix this thing.. here is an update on it.

Well guys, I just got back from looking at the car. Its at the *gasps* "bodyshop" that fixed my other 951. It was just shipped there as there is alway someone there.

I looked it over the best I could in the dark and took a few pics, the more important ones.

Interior: Looks pretty good. Drivers seat has some bigger 3" rips. Dash has one long crack right above the gauges. Should clean up good with some armor all.

Exterior: Not that bad, as you can see in the other pics. Dent in driver side fender, small dent in header panel. Hood obvisoulsy needs repainted, and small dent in rear.

Rims/Tires: Rims look good! Well except the passenger side front, looks like someone dropped it on the pavement whilst they where checking/changing brakes. Tires look brand new, Pirelli P6000's on rear and Michlein Pilot Sports on front.

Engine: Well see pics, will need some work.. obviously. I have the intake manifold and everything its in the hatch.

BTW, There was 2 new timing belts in the car? What for I dunno.

^^^ Re-looking at the pictures, that 951 could use a set of 1/4" Spacers in the rear, and something like 1/2" on the front to fill out the wheel wells.

It allready has spacers/adapters on it as the rims are a late offset and the 86's where early offset spindles. ;)

Those rims are going on my 87 and my stock phone dials are going on the 86.

For some reason, my '87 S looks better with the 1/4" Spacers, as it fills out the wells with the 9x16 and 7x16 Mag Design 90's (Very rare)

an engine fire isnt the end of the world. unless its a fiero :D hmmm, I just reconsidered that, its not so bad in an old car, where there isnt much plastic. Pretty much only the hoses and fuel can burn. But either way, you just replace your hoses and plastics and repaint the hood... There is only so much fuel in the average engine bay. I have had a few paddock machines catch fire over the years , and we had the luxury of just walking away from them. They all went out. most of the cars were drivable when the fire was out lol.

I was driving a taxi once running on LPG gas, I went to make a u turn, and the engine popped a flame back up out the airbox, whose lid was secured with an elastic okky strap. all I knew was there was smoke from under the hood, all I could think of was the huge gastank behind the seat. I stopped it and pulled on the handbreak, and ran. then got to the other side of the road, skidded to a halt, and ran back to grab the money :D then ran again. 10 mins later, I went and popped the hood.... all it was, was the black rubberised hood lining under the hood. pumping out thick black smoke. I blew on it, and it went out.

Anyway, I'm rambling outrageoulsy, and off topic too. Peace out :D

I am crazy! ;)

Seriously, I got into a big argument with people at the [H] beacuse i "wasted my money" ect ect. If you know what the cars worth and you know you can get more than what you paid outta it.. then its worth it.

I ended up selling it last week... The break down.

Paid $2000 for it, Sold it for 1x Canon Digital Rebel (down payment, $800 value) and $1700cash.... PLUS I kept the rims and tires off it.

I'd say I made out fairly well. I would of kept it but a fellow Porsche owner and good friend offered me the above deal for it. Kinda hard to pass up.

I'll end up with another one, prob a n/a, S or S2 this time. Something for Auto-X.
