What do you think would be better? Enabling all the shaders and pipelines or not and going for higher oc?

I bet you get more with all the options on. But who knows.

The cards so fast already, I'd go for the eye candy myself. Unless of course your benchmarking, and then just the opposite.

yeah you guys are prolly right. my 9800 pro (RIP) was more than adequate for me for the amount of games I play (4-5 times/year) that can actually put all that gfx power to use, plus its OC'd a bit stock.

This system seems to have LOADS of breathing room and I may consider putting another effort in to getting it under my phase change (damned chillcontrol v1/antec 550/a64 board p.i.t.a) if it shows promise under better air cooling (freezer 64 or xp-90 havent decided)

Here's the specs:

A64 3200 running @ 2400 on stock cooler and stock thermal goo
Abit KV8 pro
1GB OCZ PC4000 Gold Rev 2
BFG 6800 OC (Fully unlocked) I think its at 375/750
400GB of seagate Sata raid 0
Antec Super Lanboy
Ultra Modright PSU (its not as bad as you guys think!!)

Next on deck:
A64 3000
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1GB OCZ PC3200 Gold el rev 2
ati 9600xt
200gb seagate sata (gotta love that dell $90 sata special)

I cant decide if I want to try and mod my antec overture for more airflow and run this as my htpc or just widen the holes and tornado air in/out of it.

I was even thinking of getting a thermochill he90, that new box shaped pump, and a tdx to h20 cool the sucker (couldnt do the video, nor do I need OC'd video on this box)

I wish I coulda gotten in on that $50 antec P160 deal compusa had running a month ago..

What happened to the 9800 Pro? I use the same card is why I ask. Mines the ATI 256mb w/16 chip Hynix mem. I can overclock the GPU on this card to 465mhz, and it still hasnt given me a glitch. The memory needs some more cooling, but my Zalman kits only came with 8 sinks..gotta get 8 more.

My next one is going to be a lot like yours. I'm ready for PCI-E and a X800XT, or the 6800GT.

Not exactly sure what happened.. I think the core got damaged from a waterblock attached just a bit too tight..

I know exactly what your talking about, cause my last 9800 Pro went the same way. I put the block on it, tightened it down, and low and behold, it broke off one of those tiny little resistors next to the GPU.

It was tweaked 9800 Pro to XT from Henry Lin at OC System. He used to do my cards for me before he left there. I hated losing it, but oh well, just another casualty of the overclocking war I suppose.
