That think is pretty funny looking and i have heard that it doesnt even have a impact on temps. If you want more cooling, water cool or add a 120mm fan.

I bet it would be ok to "slightly" help keep HDD's cool, but it would have to be set up so that the heat from the TEC got pushed away from the case.


The way it looks, its just going to feed the heat in right along with the cold. Maybe thats why it doesnt work like its supposed to. Who knows. It looks cool though.

Ive done air chilling with pelts (check my gallery) on a much larger scale before. I got a 1-3c drop in internal air temps. And like no affect on CPU temps.

However, when i disconnected the chiller, i still got the 1-3c drop in air temps. Turns out, only the extra airflow in to the case was doing anything :)

Well the Bling Bling of the cool blue light and the nice "Wart" mod on the front of the case may be worth a cool Benjamin for some. :D

If you're in the North East, might as well just run your system outside in these temps. I might actually put a box on my fire escape tonite for shits and giggles to see how it clocks. I'm on the 6th fl on the windiest corner of the bldg. Windchills should be well below zero... Just gotta make sure the wind doesnt chill the machine down onto 36th avenue!! ;)

For comparsion purposes... have you ever had your hard drive laying out and you got really close to it with your butt and just let one go. I mean a really long fart? You might get the same satification in temps and fun factor for fifty dollars less, but do not let my opinion cloud your impressions. ;)
