Anyone playing it? I gotta be honest, I play so many FPS that they all blur in to one another. I dont remember what MoHAA was like and Id have to install it to recall.
The new game is fun tho. I got the DVD edition for $60. I think thats pretty expensive except for a collector like me. I think a better price would be around $40 since, well, its nearly an expansion pack (whatever one of those is these days).
I guess, if I want to be fair, the game probably ranks about a 4-6 on the old Tom meter. I mean, with HL2 and FarCry and Doom3, and about 100 WWII games out there, I'm just not feeling anything fresh or new. There's nothing particularly spectacular about this game. Okay graphics, okay AI, okay sound, okay visual effects, pretty good story line. The game feels entirely linear, congested, fairly unrealistic. One of the best drill seargents Ive seen in a game. Very realistic weapons tho, Id say. Nice ducking crouching system with lean left-right. Most everything you expect from a FPS, just nothing spectacular.
If you can forget about the beautiful games of recent days for a while and just ENJOY the game, well, its pretty fun and it's kept my attention where many others have failed. I think this is typical EA force fed gaming tho. EA games are always that one step short of being great (apart from maybe sports lineup). It really makes you appreciate the polish from something like HL2.
