The 3.2EE DOES NOT hold up to most athlon 64s in gaming environments, even lower end ones. The A64 (socket 939) 3500+ is generally superior to ANY Intel CPU in MOST games, and anything above that is just INSANE speed. Even the 3200+, which would be considered on the budget end of the A64 processor lineup, will leave a 3.2EE in the dust without looking back. If gaming isn't your main selling point, it should also be known that A64s, the socket 939 ones especially, respond well to good ram with low latencies (preferrably 2-2-2-5). I have an FX-53 and paired with some OCZ ram it is the "snappiest" computer I have ever used in my life, great for a wide range of use. The Athlon won't disappoint. However, if you really want the 3.2EE you should get it soon because it is being discontinued. The best thing to do right now, if you are gonna make the switch, is to wait for the nForce 4 boards to come out and get yourself a socket 939 Athlon.... 64 bit compatibility, PCIE, SLI, and the socket 939 upgrade path (possibly dual core CPUs on the S939 as soon as the latter half of next year) can't go wrong with that kind of future-proofing! Good luck!

In Hard|Ocp's Doom III graphics review the A64 3000+ placed in between the 3.2EE and 3.4EE, now lets think about it here, a sub $200 cpu vs. a $900 cpu, which one you going to pick? :D

My stock 3500+ is faster than my overclocked P4 3.2 at 3.8Ghz.
P4 is still better for most multimedia apps, but AMD64 is the better gamer cause of its superior floating point and faster memory.
