So I bought an extra Athlon and Motherboard to test my nf7-s and xp2100.. Turns out, it's my new athlon rig.

Board is nice, only bought asus because the guys down the road stock em, and so I can use my asus wi-fi card (yeah its only 802.11b, but it's only intended for lazy-surfing on the laptop)

I cant seem to squeeze anything out of this combo!! It seems the chip is locked pretty bad. I thought the 2400s were almost all unlocked. I tried a speed strip on it, still no love (although its possible it's not sitting perfect or fell off into the socket center.. going to check later)

I'd really like to drop the multi and give my bh5 a workout if possible. Otherwise, I guess this machine will just be my access point and work vpn machine.

Do any of you have any suggestions on this combo? I looked at some of mdzcpa's old threads, but none of those seem to work for me.

Thanks as always.

Can't you return the 2400+ for a mobile? Or trade with someone + a few $$$ ???

Can't return it.. I could always get a mobile, but I'd rather get the most out of this combo and put the rest of my money and efforts towards my A64.

Do you guys think I should try joining the 5th bridge trick, or should I give up and rule this a superlocked chip?

Speedstrips wont work. You need to scrape off the L1 bridges and use conductive paint to do it.

Do you have a link to a guide that details this procedure? I was under the impression the XP 2400 only needed the 5th L3 bridge connected.

Ive unlocked every 2400 version there is. I dont have any links though sorry.

Also, i dont remember the exact procedure. But I do know that speed strips will not work.

Think I'm gonna try the 5th L3 first, and make sure to go round the side and not across the bump. Got the conductive pen ready to do some work!!
